Remote education
Remote education provision
We are committed to ensuring that every child can continue their learning journey, even when they are unable to attend school in person. Our remote education provision will be tailored to meet the needs of the children and may include a blend of live lessons, recorded activities, use of online resources, and independent learning tasks designed to reflect our in-school curriculum as far as practicable. Teachers will provide regular feedback and support to help pupils stay motivated, make progress, and remain connected to their classmates. We use a range of accessible online platforms that are easy for both children and parents to navigate, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience for all.
When a child may need to be educated remotely
Remote education may be provided when a pupil is unable to attend school in person but is well enough to continue learning from home; this provision will be reviewed regularly. This could include situations such as short-term illness, recovery from injury, reintegration back into school, exclusion, or exceptional family circumstances (in agreement with and authorised by the headteacher) where attending school is not possible. It may be used in the event of a temporary school or class closure. Our aim is to ensure that all pupils can continue to make progress and remain connected to their class.
How remote learning is delivered
Our remote education will be provided through Google Classroom. Each class has its own online space where teachers can upload lessons, activities, and resources. Children may be able to join live sessions, watch recorded lessons, complete assignments, and receive personalised feedback from their teacher. Parents and carers are supported with guidance on how to help their child access learning and printed materials or digital devices may be provided for families who need them. Agreed home visits from members of staff will form part of the remote education provision offer. This approach ensures every pupil stays engaged, supported and connected to their school community.
